Forget spring break crowds — October through May brings comfortable temperatures, clear skies, and wildlife migrations that transform entire regions. The Pacific coast wakes up with grey whales and hammerheads; inland deserts cool enough to actually explore.

You'll find fewer tourists than summer brings, cheaper accommodation, and locals who aren't exhausted. The trade-off: some beach towns feel sleepy. But that's the point. This is when Mexico rewards actual travellers, not package tours.

The season splits cleanly: October-November is shoulder warmth with occasional rain; December-February is crisp and dry; March-May heats up again but stays manageable. Plan around your tolerance for heat and crowds, not Instagram.
