What to expect

You'll arrive at the surf school, collect your wetsuit and board, then ride to a suitable break. The instructor assesses your comfort in the water before teaching pop-up technique on white water. Expect to spend most of the two hours practising paddle timing, board positioning, and standing. You won't be catching barrels, but you'll understand how your body moves on a wave and leave with a genuine sense of what comes next if you keep surfing. The Atlantic will be cold; the wetsuit handles that. Bring a towel and dry clothes.
