ArtVo is Queensland's first trick art gallery sprawled across 1400 square metres on the Gold Coast. You'll navigate themed zones filled with massive optical illusion murals—wrestling with wild beasts, dangling over cliff edges, riding monster waves—all designed for you to step into and photograph. Unlike traditional galleries where you observe from a distance, here you become the artwork. Staff actively encourage endless snapping and posing, turning your visit into a playful creative session rather than passive viewing. Expect 2–4 hours depending on how deep you want to lean into the illusions.

What to expect

You'll move through distinct zones, each built around a different visual theme. The murals are genuinely large—designed to swallow you into the scene when positioned correctly. Your phone or camera becomes the main tool; staff are trained to help frame shots so you and your group look seamlessly woven into the artwork. There's no narrative tour or commentary, so the pace is entirely yours. Some zones play with perspective (think forced-perspective cliffs), others layer depth to make you appear dangling or surfing. It's tactile, playful, and unapologetically photo-centric.
