What to expect
Expect roughly six to seven hours in the saddle, broken into morning and afternoon sessions with a lunch break. The terrain shifts constantly—muddy tracks give way to village paths, then opens into paddle fields where you'll splash through shallow water. You'll climb a fair bit and descend just as much. Your guide leads the group at a manageable pace, stopping at viewpoints and small communities along the way. Bring a towel; you will get wet and covered in red earth. Physical demand is moderate overall, though tight core strength helps on rockier sections. Most of the riding is steady rather than aggressive. Expect basic pit stops at local warung (food stalls) and a proper meal served partway through.
Good to know
Children under five must ride with an adult on shared seats. Not suitable if you have spine problems, are pregnant, or have heart concerns. Wear proper closed-toe shoes and high-grip soles. Sunscreen and a light waterproof jacket are essential. No alcoholic drinks provided.
