What to expect

You'll be collected from your accommodation in the morning and driven to the Ayung River base near Ubud. After a safety briefing and gear check, you'll board a raft with your guide and up to a handful of other paddlers. The 2-hour run downstream mixes gentle floats through tree-lined sections with splashier rapids that keep your heart going. Between paddles, you'll spot monkeys, birds, and villages tucked into the hillsides. Once you've pulled ashore, change into dry clothes, shower if needed, and sit down to an Indonesian buffet lunch while taking in views of the Ayung valley. The return drive back to your hotel takes roughly an hour depending on traffic.

Good to know

Minimum age is 7; children under 2 must sit on an adult's lap. Not suitable if you have spinal issues, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns. Two people minimum per booking. Bring a change of clothes and sandals. Souvenir photos are shot by guides but cost extra. Casual dress is fine; valuables can be stored in lockers.
