What to expect

You'll walk at a measured pace through the Pakerisan Valley, stopping at ancient sites and passing through active farmland and village compounds. Your guide explains how three belief systems coexist in Balinese practice and points out the subak—the communal irrigation network that's shaped settlements for centuries. You'll see how villages position temples, homes and water sources according to Tri Hita Karana principles. The terrain is uneven in places; the walk suits most fitness levels but involves genuine village pathways, not manicured tracks. Lunch and hot drinks are provided midway.

Good to know

Wear sturdy footwear and sun protection. The valley can be muddy after rain. Not suitable if you have spinal problems, are pregnant or have heart concerns. Infants must sit on an adult's lap during vehicle transfers. Public transport is available nearby if needed.
