What to expect

You'll begin at the launch point with a gear briefing and paddle technique rundown. The raft launches into fast-moving current almost immediately, requiring coordinated strokes through the first rapids. Between technical sections, the river slows enough to spot birds and feel the temperature drop under the canopy. Expect to get soaked—spray and splashes are constant. Midway, you'll beach on a sand bar for lunch, then tackle the final stretch of more forceful rapids. The full experience—travel, gearing up, paddling, and shower—takes about four hours.
