This 3-hour Barcelona experience takes you through a working market to handpick ingredients, then guides you through cooking seafood paella from scratch in a dedicated studio. You'll learn the techniques behind a slow-built broth (simmered for over 20 hours) whilst working in small groups of up to 12. The session culminates in eating what you've made, paired with sangria, cava, and traditional Catalan starters. Dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

What to expect

You'll start at a Barcelona market, tasting and selecting fresh seafood, jamón, and cheeses with the chef's eye for quality. The walk to the cooking studio takes about 15 minutes. Once there, you'll work through paella preparation step-by-step—building layers of flavour, understanding why timing and heat matter. The instructor watches and corrects, but you're stirring the pan, not observing. Halfway through, Catalan tapas and cured meats arrive. Once your paella's ready, you plate up, sit down, and eat it with wine or sangria flowing. A seasonal dessert finishes things.

Markets close Sundays and bank holidays, so tours don't run those days. The walk from market to kitchen is 300m on flat ground. All spaces are wheelchair accessible. Public transport nearby. Gratuity not included. Vegetarian paella available if requested beforehand.
