About this tour

Descend into Guaria's ravine, a protected gorge in Guia de Isora where lava cliffs rise over 100 metres above you. This four-hour canyoning route takes you from parched volcanic slopes into a pocket of lush vegetation fed by a mountain stream. You'll navigate caves, scramble past endemic plants and unusual wildflowers, all while the ocean sprawls across the horizon below. Gear and guiding included; no experience necessary.

Highlights

  • Canyoning through 100m+ lava-wall gorge with sea views
  • Transition from arid volcanic landscape to hidden green ravine
  • Endemic flora and cave exploration along riverbed
  • All safety kit and shared transport provided
  • Suitable for complete beginners; four hours total

What to expect

You'll start on dry, exposed slopes near Tejina Mountain and work your way down into the Guaria gully as vegetation thickens around you. The route follows a streambed flanked by dramatic basalt walls, with caves to explore and pockets of endemic trees and flowers. Your guides provide running commentary on the geology and ecology as you descend. Photography and video capture happens alongside the activity. The contrast between bleached volcanic terrain above and verdant ravine floor below is striking.
