What to expect

You'll arrive at a kitchen space and receive a brief on Hokusai's print and its cultural significance. An instructor will demonstrate how to prepare and colour rice using natural sources, then guide you through composing your own bento box. There's no experience required; the focus is on following the visual template whilst understanding the reasoning behind colour choice and ingredient placement. Expect gentle, step-by-step instruction with time to ask questions. The session wraps with photography of your work before you eat.

Public transport reaches the venue easily; no hotel transfers included. Infants must sit with an adult. The activity isn't suitable for those with spinal injuries due to extended seated work at bench height. Wear an apron or clothes you don't mind staining.
