What to expect

The tour runs seven hours total. After pickup, you'll head to the tunnel site and spend several hours descending into the warren of passages. The tunnels are narrow in places but navigable without technical skills. You'll see sleeping quarters, kitchens, and storage areas carved from laterite. The second half involves visiting working villages where you'll observe rice-paper being made by hand and rice wine fermented in traditional clay vessels. Both workshops are still operating, not museum reconstructions. Expect heat, dust, and close quarters underground; the air stays cool but humidity is high.
