About this tour
Paddle 4km down Bali's Ayung River on a half-day rafting adventure starting from the Bongkasa entrance. This isn't a gentle float—expect genuine whitewater thrills with professional guides steering you through the rapids whilst you take in the river gorge's forested walls. Everyone gets kitted out with life jackets and helmets, and non-swimmers are supported throughout. Lunch and return transfers from south Bali or Ubud round it out.

What to expect
You'll be geared up and briefed before pushing off into fast-moving sections where the river narrows and drops. The paddle takes roughly 90 minutes of active effort—it's not exhausting, but you'll feel your arms by the end. Rapids vary in intensity; guides read the water and talk you through positioning and timing. Between technical sections, the gorge opens up enough to catch your breath and absorb the fern-covered cliffs. After hauling out, you'll shower and change, then sit down to a spread of Indonesian curries and rice dishes. The whole experience runs about two hours from water to lunch.
