What to expect
You'll depart Sanur early morning on a speedboat headed for Lembongan, then continue to Penida. Each snorkelling site offers 30-45 minutes in the water with a guide. The underwater visibility varies but conditions are usually decent for reef and pelagic spotting. Between stops, you'll return to the boat for a rest, snack, or lunch. The sea can be choppy depending on weather, so mild seasickness is possible. You'll need to be comfortable entering and exiting the boat via ladder and swimming in open water without touching the reef.
