What to expect

You'll be collected from your Avignon hotel and driven to Valensole plateau, arriving mid-morning when light hits the lavender fields at their best. Walking through the rows (timing depends on season—peak bloom is July), you'll get close to the plants and understand why the region smells distinctive. The l'Occitane visit is industrial but accessible: you'll see extraction tanks, bottling lines, and finished products. Moustiers Sainte Marie involves climbing narrow streets to view ceramicists at work and browse their studios. Bring water and sun protection; the fields offer little shade.

Good to know

Lunch is not included—eat in Moustiers before or after the village visit, or pack provisions. Wear comfortable walking shoes for field paths and village cobbles.
