What to expect
You'll be collected from your accommodation and driven through Provence's signature limestone plateau. Each village warrants 45 minutes to an hour on foot, wandering narrow lanes, peering into galleries and cafés. Gordes feels refined, almost austere—stone facades and expensive shutters. Roussillon is entirely different: the hillside itself is a palette of burnt sienna, ochre and mauve, with a walking loop (roughly 45 minutes) leading through old quarries where the soil shifts colour beneath your feet.
