What to expect

Your driver collects you mid-afternoon and heads northwest towards Tanah Lot (roughly 20km from Kuta). You'll have time to explore the clifftop temple complex, watch the light shift across the offshore shrine, and browse the surrounding shops and cafés. A cultural performance may be underway. You'll then drive to Taman Ayun near Denpasar—a quieter, more serene experience amongst tiered pagodas and groomed grounds. Expect crowds at Tanah Lot, especially nearer sunset; Taman Ayun tends to be calmer. Both require modest dress (sarongs provided). The return journey gets you back to your hotel by evening.

Good to know

Wear comfortable walking shoes with grip for uneven temple paths. Bring sunscreen and water. Photography at Tanah Lot is best 1–2 hours before sunset. The sites involve stairs and uneven surfaces; not suitable for spinal injuries, pregnancy, or serious heart conditions. Infants must sit on an adult's lap in the car.
