What to expect

You'll set out from El Aserrador in a small group with a guide who carries the required heritage site permit. The path winds upward through fragrant Canarian pine, periodically opening onto vistas across deep ravines toward the coast. The ascent is steady rather than steep, but consistent elevation gain demands a solid fitness base. As you approach Roque Nublo, the monolith dominates the skyline—it's genuinely arresting at close range. The final section involves some careful scrambling to reach the summit. Good to know

Bring sturdy walking shoes and sun protection; weather changes rapidly at altitude. The route is not suitable for those with spinal or cardiovascular limitations.
