What to expect

You'll be picked up early and flown by seaplane across turquoise water to Talbot Bay, landing on the water itself. After a swim from the platform, a powerboat charges you through the Horizontal Falls—a genuinely wild ride where massive tidal currents squeeze through narrow gaps. The sensations are intense, the spray cold. Back on solid ground, a 4x4 takes you inland through ochre-coloured scrub and spinifex. At Beagle Bay you'll walk through the community and see the Mother of Pearl Church, inlaid with thousands of shells. The day finishes at a working pearl farm where you'll learn how the industry shaped this coast.

Good to know

Wear closed shoes and bring sunscreen; the Kimberley sun is relentless. Weight limits apply for the seaplane (120 kg maximum). The tidal phenomenon varies daily, so exact timings shift. Declare any dietary needs at booking. Pregnant women past 26 weeks shouldn't attempt the fast boat. Children must be supervised by adults.
