What to expect

You'll be collected before dawn and driven to the trailhead. The trek itself is steady rather than punishing, taking roughly six hours to reach the 1,717-metre summit. Guides point out geological features and navigate by torchlight through the cool morning air. As you climb higher, the surrounding landscape reveals itself—first starlit, then caught between night and day. At the peak, sit with warm coffee or tea and a simple meal whilst light floods the landscape. The descent takes roughly two hours. Afterwards, transfer to the hot spring complex where you can soak tired legs in naturally heated pools at your own pace.

Good to know

Wear layers; the summit is cool even in Bali. Bring comfortable walking shoes with grip. The pace is relaxed and guides adjust to the group. Lockers and towels are provided at the hot spring. Leave carbonated drinks at home—they're not included.
