What to expect
Expect a structured progression. The Open Water course covers fundamentals—breathing underwater, managing buoyancy, clearing your mask—in confined water first, then shallow open dives where you'll build comfort. You'll earn your certification once competent. The Advanced course follows immediately, skipping classroom theory you've just absorbed. Here you'll attempt deeper dives and try specialties (navigation, deep diving, photography, wreck diving) based on what appeals to you. Your instructor helps tailor your learning path. Both courses demand focus and honesty about your limits; the water off Tulamben is forgiving but unforgiving of carelessness.
