What to expect
The course runs over three consecutive days with a mix of classroom sessions and water time. Mornings typically start with theory covering buoyancy control, equalisation, and emergency procedures. You'll then enter the water in shallow zones to practise fundamental skills like breathing underwater and mask clearing before moving to deeper open-water dives. Theory sessions between water time let concepts sink in. By day three, you'll be conducting full open-water dives with growing autonomy. Expect physical exertion but no prior diving experience needed.
Good to know
Public transport reaches the dive centre easily. The course suits various fitness levels but isn't suitable for pregnancy or significant cardiovascular conditions. Service animals are welcome, and prams are allowed at the facility. All equipment rental is covered in your fee.
