What to expect
Expect a physically demanding day involving multiple abseils, scrambling over boulders, and wading through cold water. The canyon narrows and widens unpredictably—you'll clip into ropes for the steeper sections and move unroped through easier stretches. Boots, helmet and wetsuit stay on throughout. Guides read conditions constantly and adjust pace to your group's rhythm. By hour five, fatigue sets in; the final sections feel steeper than they are. If lunch is booked, you'll drive to a family-run restaurant where Andalusian cooking centres on seasonal vegetables and cured meats.
Good to know
Not suitable if you have spine issues, are pregnant, or have cardiovascular concerns. You'll need moderate fitness—this isn't a walk. Bring a towel and dry clothes for after. Hotel collection isn't included; arrange your own transport to the start point. Lunch costs €10 extra and must be pre-booked.
