What to expect

You'll be collected from your hotel in the dark and driven to the trailhead. The climb takes roughly two hours on steep, rocky terrain to reach the summit. Once there, you'll join a crowd of other trekkers warming themselves with hot drinks whilst the sky gradually lightens. The sun's arrival prompts genuine celebration from the gathered climbers. After soaking in the moment, the descent takes about an hour, followed by time in the natural hot springs before returning to your hotel by mid-afternoon.

Wear sturdy, closed shoes and bring a light layer—the summit is cool before sunrise. The trek involves sustained uphill walking on uneven ground. Not suitable for pregnant travellers or anyone with spinal concerns. Breakfast is provided; lunch is not.
