You'll participate fully in the sacred bathing ceremony at the temple's spring-fed pools, then visit the lesser-known Ulu Petanu Waterfall for swimming in turquoise basins, finishing at Tegalalang Rice Terraces. What to expect

You'll start at Tirta Empul Temple where a priest walks you through the melukat ceremony step by step—this is active participation, not spectating from the sidelines. After changing into a sarong and receiving offerings and incense, you'll enter the spring pools for ritual cleansing. The water is cool and refreshing. Following the ceremony, you'll head to Ulu Petanu Waterfall, a quieter alternative to busier spots, where you can swim freely in natural pools surrounded by jungle. The final stop is Tegalalang Rice Terraces, where you'll walk through layered emerald paddies and learn how farmers work the land seasonally. Throughout the day your driver handles logistics.
