What to expect

Your 2.5 hours begin with a 90-minute introduction to SCUBA in the aquarium's training pool, covering essential skills and breathing techniques. A safety briefing follows before you enter Shark Harbour. You'll be guided through the water by experienced handlers as you encounter Grey Nurse Sharks and rays in their natural habitat. The 30-minute dive itself is closely supervised. Expect clear water, controlled conditions and constant staff presence throughout. Afterwards, you'll debrief and receive a certificate. Physical demands are moderate but real—you'll need reasonable swimming ability and good ear/sinus health.

Good to know

English fluency is mandatory for safety communication. Medical clearance required if you have asthma, heart disease, epilepsy, diabetes, chest or ear conditions, high blood pressure, or are pregnant. Avoid alcohol the night before. Don't fly within 12 hours after diving. Minimum age 14; under-18s need parental consent and parent attendance at briefing. Bring own mask and full-length wetsuit if you have them; otherwise all gear supplied.
