What to expect

Your minivan departs Bayeux in the morning and takes roughly 90 minutes to reach Mont Saint-Michel. Once there, you're free to spend several hours exploring. Expect significant walking—the island has steep cobbled streets, narrow passageways, and many flights of stairs leading up to the abbey. The ascent and descent are genuine climbs, not gentle strolls. You'll navigate on foot through the village, visiting shops and cafés if you wish, before tackling the abbey interior (tickets purchased separately). The return journey mirrors the outbound drive.

Wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes—non-negotiable. Bring water and snacks; food on the island is pricey. The tour requires a minimum of four participants. Infant car seats are available.
