What to expect

The boat departs early and carries you past the inner reef to deeper, less-visited outer walls where coral diversity peaks. Snorkellers enter the water first, following the naturalist through shallow zones thick with parrotfish and wrasse. Divers drop to 12–18 metres on guided descents, timing their bottom time between rest intervals on deck. The pace is unhurried; you'll spend 45–60 minutes at each site. Between sites, crew serve hot food and drinks while you rinse off and dry in the sun. The return journey gives time to recover before reaching port by late afternoon.

Moderate fitness required; cardiovascular conditions may disqualify you. Scuba participants complete a health form; some medical histories (asthma, heart issues) prevent diving—check with your doctor first. Wetsuit hire costs extra.
