What to expect
You'll board a traditional outrigger or small motorboat from Lembongan and head to reef sites known for manta activity. The water is typically 25–28°C and visibility ranges from 10–20 metres depending on season and weather. Your guide will brief you on basic snorkel technique and safety before entry. Expect to spend most of the time in the water, scanning the sandy channels and reef edges where mantas feed. Fish are abundant but mantas aren't guaranteed—they're wild animals. Surface intervals let you recover and spot-check the guide's directions.
Good to know
Wear reef-safe sunscreen and a rash guard to avoid sunburn. Bring a small towel and avoid heavy breakfast beforehand if prone to motion sickness. Hotel pickups aren't included, so arrange transport to Lembongan independently. Not suitable if you have spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns, or are pregnant.
