What to expect
You'll board a boat at the Palinuro marina and head south along rocky headlands toward the Blue Grotto. Expect about 20 minutes of travel time; the skipper will ease the vessel into the cavern mouth so you can watch limestone walls glow amber and violet as the sun drops. After a spell there, the boat motors to the Bay of Good Sleep—quieter, deeper water perfect for swimming. A crew member will lay out platters of local seafood, cured meats, cheeses and bread while you're either in the water or drying off. Drinks flow freely. By the time you're back at port, it's fully dark.
Good to know
Bring a towel and change of clothes. Snorkelling gear isn't supplied, so leave your own at home unless you're keen to hire elsewhere. No toilet facilities aboard.
