What to expect

Expect a structured day moving between five locations with extended stops at beaches and temples. Tanah Lot and Uluwatu involve walking on stone paths and stairs with uneven terrain; the former sits on a tidal rock platform accessed via causeway. At Padang Padang you have roughly two hours to swim, sunbathe and eat independently. The Kecak performance at Uluwatu happens in late afternoon or early evening in an amphitheatre carved into the cliff. Finally, at Jimbaran you browse fresh fish displayed on ice, agree on a price with vendors, then dine beachside whilst your catch cooks. The full loop takes 8–12 hours depending on traffic and your pace.

Good to know

Bring a sarong or cover-up for temple entry; locals enforce dress codes. Secure all belongings at Uluwatu—monkeys actively steal sunglasses, hats and bags. Lunch and dinner are your cost; temple entry fees are separate. The route involves substantial driving; pack sunscreen, a hat, change of clothes and a towel. Not suitable for pregnant women or those with significant back or cardiac concerns.
