What to expect

Start with pickup from your hotel in Ubud or the beach zones. Your guide takes you first to the rice paddies where you walk among the planted fields—the landscape shifts with seasons, so you might see flooded terraces or ready-to-harvest crops. Next is the water temple, an actual shrine fed by natural springs where locals come to pray. The waterfall hike takes about 30-40 minutes down a sloped path with some rocky sections—the pool at the base is cool and photogenic. Last stop is the plantation, a leisurely stroll identifying coconut, cacao, vanilla, and banana plants. You're back at your accommodation between 4:30 and 8:15 pm depending on traffic and which area you're in.

Good to know

Wear trainers with grip for wet rocks. Bring a light rain layer—these spots get showers year-round. Not suitable if you have back problems, are pregnant, or have heart concerns. The Ubud base gives shortest travel times to sites. Bottled water provided; ask about lunch options beforehand.
