What to expect

You'll arrive at a working studio in Ubud where your instructor briefs you on safety and technique. The bulk of your two hours is spent at your bench—filing, shaping, soldering, and polishing your piece under guidance. Expect your hands to get warm from the work and possibly smell of metal. Your instructor will step in if you're struggling, but the satisfaction comes from seeing your own marks on the final object. There's a natural rhythm of focused work, then a breather to hydrate and snack.

Good to know

Wear clothes you don't mind getting marked. Remove rings and loose jewellery before starting. The studio gets warm during soldering. If you want to use gemstones or add extra silver, confirm costs upfront (additional silver is 80K per gram). Not suitable for pregnant travellers or those with serious back or heart conditions.
