What to expect

Expect a steady itinerary of temple visits and scenic stops, each requiring short walks and light climbing in and around grounds. The day moves north from Ubud area toward the coast and highlands, with photo-stops at each location. Temples involve some stairs; views reward the effort. Bring a hat and sunscreen—exposure is unavoidable between shade patches. The final stop at Tanah Lot coincides with the busy sunset window, so crowds are normal.

Entry fees to temples not included. Wear sarongs or covered shoulders at sacred sites; rentals available on-site. Roads are paved but winding; plan for motion sensitivity. Best light for photography is early morning at temples, late afternoon at Tanah Lot. Bring water beyond what's provided.
