You'll be picked up from your accommodation and driven to Uluwatu Temple, a clifftop sanctuary overlooking the Indian Ocean, arriving in time to watch the sun dip toward the horizon. A troupe of performers then stages the Kecak Fire Dance, a hypnotic retelling of the Ramayana epic, complete with rhythmic chanting and controlled flames. The evening concludes with a seafood dinner by candlelight at Jimbaran Beach, where the ocean breeze and sound of waves frame your meal.

What to expect

Your driver collects you mid-afternoon and takes you up to Uluwatu Temple, a dramatic structure clinging to a sheer cliff face. You'll have time to explore the temple grounds and find a good vantage point before sunset. As light fades, the Kecak performance begins—dozens of male performers chant in unison while dancers enact scenes from the Ramayana, leaping and swaying around blazing fire. The spectacle is visceral and loud. Afterwards, you're driven down to Jimbaran Beach for dinner, where grilled seafood is served at a beachfront table with candles flickering in the sea breeze.

Arrive at the temple with time to spare—seating fills quickly during peak season. Wear comfortable shoes for temple exploration.
