About this tour
A half-day roving tour across three distinct Provençal pockets—medieval Evenos, the Bandol wine region, and the fishing village of Cassis. You'll taste AOP Bandol wines at source, wander stone-built lanes steeped in history, and catch sea views from the dramatic Route des Crêtes. Four to six hours of driving, tasting and footwork through one of southern France's most layered corners.
Highlights
- Taste AOP Bandol wines in the vineyard where they're grown
- Medieval stone streets and ramparts of Evenos village
- Route des Crêtes: switchback drive with coastal panoramas
- Cassis port: working fishing boats and waterfront character
- Air-conditioned transport with bottled water included
What to expect
You'll be picked up and driven through wine country toward Evenos, where you'll step out to explore narrow lanes and stone buildings dating back centuries. The drive toward Cassis takes you across the Route des Crêtes—a winding ridge road with steep drop-offs and views across the Mediterranean. In Cassis itself, expect a working port with bobbing boats, cafés, and the smell of salt. Wine tasting happens at a Bandol producer, with explanation of what makes the local reds distinctive. Most of the experience involves short walks and plenty of sitting in the vehicle.
Good to know
Bring comfortable shoes for uneven medieval paving. Lunch isn't included—eat in Cassis if you're peckish. The route involves some winding roads; take travel sickness medication if prone. Fully accessible for wheelchair users and families with young children.
