What to expect
You board at Hoffnungsthal Valley and climb steadily as the pilot guides you west along the ridge, pointing out the patchwork of vineyard contours and palm-lined roads. The flight then descends into the valley floor near Tanunda where you can make out the stone buildings of Chateau Tanunda and scattered churches. Mid-flight, the pilot highlights Maggie Beer's farm and the sprawling Penfolds estate. Further south, Jacob's massive wine tanks become visible—each capable of holding 1.4 million litres.
