What to expect
You'll meet your guide at dawn for the drive north to Tulamben. The dive centre sits right on the black sand beach—no boat needed, as the wreck lies just offshore in accessible shallows. Descend alongside the Liberty's rusted hull, now draped in soft corals and swarming with parrotfish, snappers and grouper. The wreck's holds and deck offer natural exploration points without feeling technical or demanding. Between dives, you'll eat a proper meal and rest. Visibility typically runs 5–15 metres depending on conditions.
Good to know
Bring a light rash vest for sun protection and thermal comfort. The drive from South Bali takes roughly three hours; bring water and snacks. You'll need basic fitness and cardiovascular health. Not suitable if pregnant. Prior diving certification (Open Water minimum) is required.
